In light of this attack, how much humanitarian aid do you think the west owes Syrian refugees?

The Syrian war, specifically the rise of ISIS, has a lot to do with U.S. actions dating back to the 2003 invasion and occupation of Iraq. Both of which gave rise to ISIS in the first place. Even now, the continuing U.S. airstrikes in Syria and neighboring Iraq are escalating the war in both places.

So okay, sure. The United States should take liability, which as far as I know it has never denied. However, how much should a country be held liable for their actions in times of war? Let's not forget why the United States was joined by other First world nations invaded Iraq in the first place; in an effort to free Iraqi citizens from the reign of dictator Saddam Hussein and his support for terrorism. If you take a look at the facts surrounding both sides, not just the ones published in the media, perhaps the lines get a bit more blurry between what was 'right' and what was 'wrong'.

Regarding the recent crisis of Syrian refugees fleeing or dying trying to reach Europe and ultimately reaching Canada/the United States as everyone opens their doors in a humanitarian effort, how much is enough? It started with the Charlie Hebdo fiasco back in January of 2015 with 12 killed and more injured. Motives behind this attack? Publishing a cartoon version of Muhammad. To which you can plead 'religious freedom' but really? Should all nations within which Muslim individuals reside now function under Sharia law in whole?

In essence, I'm just asking how much you think western nations should help Syrians and other refugees from this whole crisis. Especially in light of the attacks in Paris yesterday. Perhaps limiting the amount of refugees from this whole fiasco is not a statement against Muslims as a whole, but simply a cautionary measure to minimize any involvement with the Islamic state, who have not the first time shown that they are more than capable to extending their terror across the globe.
