[Serious] People age 18-40s, who do not work or go to school, what do you do in your daily life? How do you sustain it?

I'm 30, was laid off last year (from a relatively relaxed job I loved), and I live alone. I took this as a chance to focus on my writing and involvement in the local arts scene. I've been living off a somewhat large settlement from when I was 16, along with savings built up over the last decade. My day to day is uniform. Wake up, coffee and protein shake, stretch and thirty minutes of cardio. I do a general editing pass on whatever I'm planning to work on, take a shower, and start writing. I keep this up until lunch, which I follow with getting caught up on current news and some general relaxation. After lunch/news I usually read, or watch something, sometimes play a video game or take care of the garden depending on the time of year. After this I return to writing until about two hours before I plan to eat dinner. I do that day's exercise routine. Then I cook and eat dinner.

This is the general pattern of my day. I'm content with ritual and a lack of variety. But a few times a week it is altered or interrupted with a lunch or coffee date or doing dinner with a friend. I don't really drink recreationally anymore, but most of my evenings and nights are spent out at shows and events in the downtown scene. I make money here and there writing for local zines and for a couple theaters.

I can keep this up for a couple more years comfortably. It's a privilege I'm trying not to shrink from. I'm considering going back to school for a composition or educational post-grad. I'm not looking to teach as much as coordinate/design auxiliary support for either secondary or higher ed. I might take on a small part-time position if an attractive one pops up for me, it'd help extend this freedom, but I'm not in an active search.
