[Serious] They say "people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses." What made you leave?

I’m currently completely unchallenged in my position, and thinking of leaving when things are more stable. I’m in IT and moved from a company of 90 people to a company of 300 thinking that it would be a good step up, I would get experience being a part of a team, and get to work with more complicated systems.

Turns out that everything is so well set up that besides the day to day peoples issues (ie. “My keyboard doesn’t work”) there is nothing to do. I spend 85% of the day browsing the internet or reading ebooks. This sounds great in theory but it is really draining after months of it. I’ve asked for projects in the past, and the response was “we are really happy with the work you’ve done, keep it up!”

I know I should be self studying and getting new certs, but it’s very hard to stay motivated when you have no use for the knowledge. I can feel my skills deteriorating, so I can’t see myself staying much longer.
