[Serious] Why do people try hard drugs if they know they'll get addicted? How much amplified is the high/buzz that they feel from these in comparison to the "lower tier" drugs?

When I started doing hard drugs I was 15 and already had an alcohol problem that I was in denial about. I was self medicating myself. When my mom got a small shoulder injury she got painkillers, the ones she didn't need anymore the put in the fridge. I took them and fell in love with the feeling of opiates. I nodded out, got vivid dreams while nodding, a warm feeling over my body. When I ran out of the pills because there only were a few, I wanted to feel that again. I had friends who were into hard drugs who introduced me to heroin. When I started taking H I thought that I wouldn't get addicted. It happened to other people, but not to someone like me. Smokes H when I was in a good mood, in a bad mood, bored.. Used any excuse to get high and eventually become addicted. Some drugs info that gets published is prue bullshit. You see some weed related injuries that have been taken out of context. So when you start smoking weed you see some of the bullshit. I figured that the addictiveness of hard drugs are probably exaggerated too.
