[Serious] People who have killed another person, accidently or on purpose, what happened?

oh god, I have such a similar memory, but at least he didn't die. When I was a brand new driver, a kid a year older than me turned left in front of me while I was going straight and I didn't have any time to brake, so I tboned him really hard. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt and the car he was driving was a jeep, so the top of it came off and it rocked over a bit and luckily hit another car and rocked back on four wheels again.

But his head went through the windshield and there was blood everywhere and he dislocated his collar bone. When I finally got out of my car, all I could hear were the moans as two EMTs who happened to be passing pulled him out. These moans were the sound of death itself, I felt like his spirit was living his body with every convulsion he made, lying there on the ground. All I could think to myself was "I killed him, I killed him, I've actually killed someone." I just sat there shaking, shaking, while everyone gave him the attention, trying to save him, thinking that I'm going to hell because I've killed a kid, a young kid who let out a blood curling "MOMMA!"

God, I can still hear it. Messes you up, and this kid didn't even die, thank God.
