I did this for a few classes.
Macroeconomics. It was in a class connected to a mechanical garage that was constantly filled with exhaust and loud tractor motors. Out of 120 the average class attendance was around 15. Professor was terrible.
I switched majors, and this resulted in me having Biochemistry 2 and an intro biology course at the same time my last semester. Biochem 2 was a joke [crossword puzzles for examinations in Biochem 1, the Biochem 2 tests were different, but still easy pretty easy] since they didn't have a knowledgeable professor for it - I don't know why as they had good faculty for the rest of the chemistry department, and for the intro Biology class it was 95% things I knew since I was a cell biology major with most of premeds requirements. Each professor knew about my situation, and I would skip both of them, and occasionally show up to Biochem to make that professor feel better. I got out of the in class stuff I was required to do for Biology with a little bit of make-up work, since it makes sense to go to Biochem II most/all of the time over an intro bio course. No regret for this one, as I never should have been in the Bio class in the first place.
In the first Bio course I took at college, I missed skipped a Friday for some reason. I remember sitting down next to this kid I didn't know for the next class period, seeing all these people up front getting ready for some activity, so I asked him what we were doing today. He told me we were taking a test. I said, "oh", and this kid's face turned white. It wasn't my best exam - was a higher B I think, but I was happy I didn't miss the test all together, and I'll always have the memory of this kid turning white.
Today I'm in physician assistant school and have a mandatory attendance policy that sometimes drives me nuts.
