Serious question: Ladies, how often are you catcalled?

Was worse in Boston where there were idle construction workers on every other corner. And was absolutely horrible up in White Plains where the drive-by catcalls would happen - the cars would either blast music and yell at you to dance for them, or the cars would roll slowly up to you and then when you'd turn, there'd be this guy grinning at you. On freakin main street with all the other cars going by.

Here it's mostly Hispanic delivery men waiting outside their restaurants, and they laugh with each other and growl out "hello mami" and "very beautiful." I'd agree with some other posters that midtown is worse, there'd literally be a group of men walking past you and one would mutter something and then later you'd be like - well that had been directed at me wasn't it.

So all in all I'd say it averages 2-3 times a week, but I walk most of my commute and take detours to avoid "problem" zones so it hasn't been too bad. Now I've moved to London and it's been 3 weeks with zero catcalling so far!!!! The cold might have something to do with it though.
