[Serious] racists, homophobes, bigots etc, of reddit, what makes you that way?

I obviously do not consider myself a bigot, but often am called that when I express my opinions on "transgender" issues. I personally do not believe they should be lumped in with homosexuals so never use the "LGBT" label because it is just not an accurate classification in my mind. I find the push to allow born-male students in High School to be a part of girls athletics teams wrong. I am amazed at how long it took for Title IX to happen and believe that we are doing a disservice to those girls who must put up with these interlopers in their sports programs. From a scientific stand point I am unconvinced that a single year of hormone treatment makes up for all of the physical bone and muscle advantages that males have.

I find it ridiculous to brush aside the concerns of High School girls who might have to share a locker room with a born-male person. Sure, they probably aren't going to do anything weird, but brushing aside the very concern with a "get over it" also seems overly dismissive to me.

For this I am called a homophobe (which is not the same thing in my mind) and a bigot. However, it seems these days that unless you are willing to viciously fight and slander any who oppose the latest "marginalized group" you are asking for transgender people to commit suicide. Which again, is not the case, I hope nobody does that or hates themselves for any reason. Instead, I would suggest that the reason transgender people commit suicide in high numbers has more to do with the illogical nature of their choice than with society "not accepting them." None of this means I think transgender people should be legally attacked or not allowed the same rights in a political sense. Instead it is merely when it comes to the case of considering them physically women that I balk.

Famously, Renee Richards has expressed regrets and similar views now with the benefit of hindsight. I doubt we'll ever see a born-male trans athlete allowed to set a world record in a women's Olympic event as well. Again, often I am called a bigot or worse for these views.
