[Serious] Reddit, what was a simple gesture from a stranger or acquaintance that made all the difference?

For me it was a very small thing.

Serious relation for 6 years, one evening it was over.

I wandered around kinda feeling lost, eventually sat down on a bench in the park.

I was under the assumption that I was all alone. Guess I began sobbing a bit, my face in my palms

Suddenly I felt a small hand on my knee.

I was startled a bit, didn't hear anyone coming.

Here was this little girl "Are you alright? Did you lose something?"

First time I didn't know what to say.

"Yeah I'm okay :)"

And she ran back to her parents with a smile.

It was weird, touched me deeply, butit made me feel so much better.

I collected myself together, stood up walked away, with a smile
