[Serious] Redditors who bash Christians, what has a Christian (personally/directly and not interested in hearing blanket statements against religion) done to you to make you speak out against them?

Here is my most recent youtube video, which isn't a bashing of religion as much as a frank discussion about religion and it's influence in our current society. The idea behind it was what are the holidays really about, and this year I found it refreshing that the media wasn't beating a dead horse because it was preoccupied with Star Wars. My critique of modern cristianity is the role some churches play in using God as a platform for spreading hatred and intolerance. Which is the exact same shitty behavior I see on reddit from r/athiesm that I blocked because it isn't a productive practice to dwell in negativity. And I also know a lot of genuine nice people, who are Christians and it isn't my initiative to belittle them. I was on debate team in highschool and my over all philosophy is that through unbiased discussions arguing both sides you can see that no one is every entirely right or wrong. Through having discussions or critique of anything, is how we gain knowledge. So specifically, Christianity growing up taught me two important lessons. Try to follow the golden rule and treat everyone the way you want to be treated. I also attended churches where the preacher was very blatantly condeming all gay people as evil. And it was one of the most vial things I have ever experienced, to watch a man act exactly as hitler did. That is my fear, not the religion itself but what it can do in the hands of evil men who seek power for there own gain and as a tool to spread intollerence. It is a complicated thing, I have also seen it do amazing things for people. But, mostly I think it is important to have discussions like this so that we work to not see any group of people as one thing.
