[Serious] Redditors who knew murderers before they committed their crimes, what were they like? What was your experience with them?

There was this one dude who was a complete piece of shit. We'll call him T. I didn't know him personally but mostly through my best friend. Our one interaction was at a convention. I was with my best friend, K, and my other friend, J . He was supposed to be her ride back home. She hadn't been there very long but he guilt tripped her to going to a party with him, her ex, this random girl, and some other dude. We were already pissed at Tim because she spent $60 on a 3 day ticket and only stayed 1.5 hours because he was impatient even though he was the reason she came late.

J decided she might as well leave since she had a curfew. It was nighttime downtown and we didn't want anyone walking by themselves, so we offered to walk her to her car. Her usual lot was full and she couldn't remember exactly where she parked so it took longer than expected. In that time, T had arrived and proceeded to harass my friend about making him wait. He kept making asshole comments such as "this is why women shouldn't drive" and "How are you so dumb you don't know where you parked" (Again, downtown was packed because there was an event and it was also Saturday night).

Eventually K leaves with T and goes to the party. The other girl left early, and it turns out the guys had planned to drug and rape my friend. T allegedly knew and kept saying he was there for her, but went for sloppy seconds while she was paralyzed on the bed. She reported it to the police, there was evidence that it wasn't consensual, but because she was "intoxicated" they dropped the case. Fast forward she gets back with shitty ex. (Don't ask me why I never supported the decision). He dies of a heroin overdose, and it was suspected to be a murder. Couple years down the line it turns out that he had been clean up until that overdose. T really wanted to make a quick buck, and sold to his alleged "best friend" knowing that former addicts tend to overdose. He confessed to several people involved, but I'm not sure if any legal action was taken.
