[Serious] Redditors who've fallen from a height they thought would kill them, what happened and what went through your mind?

still going through therapy at the moment and this happened right before summer this year,

I was trespassing on these expensive new buildings that were being made right new to my apartment complex, it was nice being alone up on a 3 story condo being able to view the next city across mine, they had just put furniture in the condos so I would go there to relax regularly and take some photos.

usually I would just climb up to the first floor balcony that they would always leave unlocked, which was easy enough and from there I could go anywhere in the house, but the night I fell they were locked, so I got the bright idea to climb the storm drain running alone the side of the building to get to the 3rd floor balcony. As I made my way up the drain, it started bending from the pressure from my hands grasping it which should have deterred me from going forward but I kept at it, by the time I was at the floor of the 3rd level balcony the drain had completely separated from the building and I was stuck while it was slowly bending backs from my weight. As I started falling I accepted that I was going to die, it’s was about 45 foot drop straight on to the concrete drive way. All I could think was:

“all this to escape my problems for a few mins, all this to be alone.”

I closed my eyes at the beginning of my fall until I hit the ground. my eyes shot open once I reached the ground and I have been hit HARD before so I knew the feeling of getting the wind knocked out of me but this lasted longer, I couldn’t breathe for a good 15 seconds and was panicking, not to mention the shock I was feeling from the pain. Being young and stupid I was worried about being caught more so then my injury’s so I crawled away with I would later learn to be 2 fractured taluses (the joint of the ankle) and a broken wrist.
