[Serious] Should elderly people be forced to take tests regarding their motor vehicle operating abilities and mental fitness and get their motor vehicle license(s) revoked if they fail the test(s)? Why/why not?

IMO I feel like it should be a standard for everyone to retake a test every 10 years or something to that extent. Not just old people are bad drivers.

That said small anecdote. I used to work in a small town ER. I also had a morbid curiosity of checking the local newspapers online obituary for names I recognized. I remember specifically this one incredibly nice old lady who came in for a few exams and was rather frail and her dexterity was noticeably not great. A week later I saw the obituary for her, and that she had died from an auto accident the same day I saw her. Im non clinical but she definitely wasn't in the greatest condition to drive herself around if I were to guess based off what I saw.
