[Serious] Small, American Business owners of Reddit, what do you think of a minimum wage increase?

That's not the implication of what he's arguing. You're wrong on that statement. Really.

Let me point this out to you. If I make 10 loaves of bread and sell only 5 each day, why are those other people not buying my bread? Is it because they don't value my effort? Is it because they don't value my life? I'm using that money to sustain my life? Perhaps my bread sucks. Perhaps I don't have any idea how to sell. Perhaps I can find a better location. That's life.

Now let's say I go work for a bakery and continue making horrible bread, don't put bread in a convenient location, or forget to label which kind of bread it is (which contributes to the sell of the bread). Am I valuable to that bakery? Using the same logic in your post, do the customers (who didn't purchase the bread) suddenly consider not supporting my life? If the customers don't, then who should?

Should some collection of random registered corporations pay for my life because...well I'm a person and I deserve a good living? Should businesses, who hire me once, be forced to pay be despite learning I am terrible and making and selling bread? Are they responsible if I don't learn?

You can't accuse businesses of being inconsiderate of someone's life. That just plain isn't fair. I can't accuse a customer of being inconsiderate of my life. I can't be forced to give them more money. I may give them more money. But I may also give them other things. I may give them a book on managing their finances. I may give them a book to learn more. I may help them get into a position in the company that offers a little more and gives them a chance to learn a valuable skill. Perhaps they hate that position. I may let them try another position some place else. They may find some other job in another industry they feel more valuable and actually enjoy much more. I just might give them a nice, honest referral.

You can't make the implication that business people are not recognizing the value of a human life because they can't or don't pay more money. That's terrible. That is inconsiderate of that business owner, their contributions to society, and how they actually do value life.
