My parents adopted a kid my age who had been through some hard stuff, on and off from when i was around 10 to 16. Due to my parents divorcing and father gambling the rent away, we moved houses every 4-8 month. We were poor without internet and I gave up making any friends in school anymore.

..So I had nobody to tell me what sex was, and that despite how it feels, that whole experience would absolutely ruin me mentally when i got older. I never ended up telling my parents really, adopted brother got kicked out a few years ago when he turned 18 due to anger and drug issues.

They also missed the 2 times i tried to kill myself but failed, and i never told them, or got medical attention.

On a strange but lighter note, when it was only me and both parents living together, my mother found porn searches of naked guys on the computer, and naturally blamed the young girl in the house... but I never used that computer for porn, and the last person on the computer was my father. He was really nice to me after that, i think he thought i was doing him a major favor, but really it just wasn't worth arguing with my mother about anything.
