There was a precedent setting case in my country a few years ago. Couple split, Mother dragged the father through a bitter and lengthy court process and... she lost. Badly!
Why? Father proved that right after the split he offered a very reasonable deal to her. 50/50, full child support, swap holidays, some other details. She railed against it and made ridiculous demands. Judge ruled she had no right to refuse a reasonable offer that would have given the child the best options in life. The judge's closing statement was scathing!
