[Serious] What is one question you'd like to ask a minority group (cultural, social, sexual, etc) out of sincere curiosity, but have been unable to do so for fear of seeming socially or culturally insensitive and receiving harsh reprisal or consequences?

Gonna start by saying Rap is a really broad/developed genre at this point, so any statement about it will completely miss the mark for specific genres/styles of it. That being said I get what you're asking, and I'll answer the best I can. The common theme here you're gonna see is that a lot of rap is just a way of puffing out your chest convincing people how 'powerful, successful, and awesome' you are, and it uses "sex-money-murder" as a way to establish that.

Not only that, when your race of people who have this pretty unique American experience involved with growing up in a poor neighborhood, rampant with crime and without a father figure, people can be tempted to cling to it like some part of their heritage/cultural identity. Anyways, onto the three things you mentioned.

Violence- makes you feel powerful/tough. A lot of genres get violent, but something about rap you'll notice is they talk about how they've been violent before, and would be willing to be violent again- they also talk about being violent in fairly standard, real life scenarios.

Compare it to death metal, where violence can be described in some archaic/grotesque way that is intense, but also almost too intense to be taken seriously (fountains of blood, satan will devour your soul, etc. etc.). It's less about convincing the listener that they're "capable of being violent, so back off", and more about convincing them how gruesome it's going to be, and how much they want to do it. This person is an animal and they're hungry for blood, not some bad ass human that you should respect because they're so powerful.

Sexual objectification: I think this is not unique to rap, but I think there could be roots in rappers coming from cultures where there aren't strong family figures. Basically, you aren't raised with a dad who loved and respected your mother in a married relationship, so instead you just see guys hooking up with girls, women to you might as well be sexual objects. Like with violence, a lot of rap is about convincing you how "awesome" the rapper is, and using the women he's slept with as a measure is another way to communicate that.

Drugs: Thinking of really dangerous drugs like meth, shows 'authenticity' of rapper's life style, he's not afraid of getting caught, he's successful cause he pushes meth and gets away with it, he's probably also violent/willing to hurt you cause he's a drug dealer, that sort of shit.
