[Serious]What is the seediest, shadiest thing you've ever experienced with a legitimate business?

I worked across the street from a mechanic. Since we had a lot of work vehicles, he had always given us huge discounts if we stayed a loyal customer. Really friendly guy and very knowledgable. I trusted him absolutely with my own vehicles and he never let me down and always corrected any mistakes or misses for free. The shop was very reputable and he had people coming to him from all over the state. He retired and handed the business down to his son, who was also very good at the trade and just as big-hearted as his dad. Or so it seemed. Only a year after the business was officially his, he was arrested for embezzling funds. Some of the money my employers were paying him to fix our trucks went directly into his pocket. His secretary was the one that ratted him out. His dad came out of retirement to keep the business going, but he's still trying to sell it 2 years later. I feel bad that he has to keep working because his own son fucked up. Apparently he was just as surprised about it as everyone else.
