[Serious] What state has the most surprisingly rude people in your experience? Stories?

For me, definitely Indiana, it's a state where being educated can make you be seen of as " strange" (that's definitely the word they'd say). Even when you're educated in indiana you're still thought of as strange by those who are educated if you don't match their weird norms. There's so much thinly-veiled intolerance it drives me insane. It's a total cult mentality too. IDK how to describe these indiana people in any other way. It's like "rude canadians".

Indiana is the only state where if I'm just friendly to a person they'll just up and rudely walk away in the middle of a conversation. I've never seen anything like it anywhere. Experience this? Even the more progressive people in Indiana seem to have the same level of intolerance (astronomically high) as the more stereotyped people indiana people. It's just holy fucking shit. On one end you have the stereotyped raging rednecks who will straight up and jump out of their car and attack you because of road rage. On the other end you have pompous arses who ask "why would anyone ever own a gun" when they're from a town [goshen] where everybody has a shotgun in their car.
