[Serious] What stories about WW2 did your grandparents tell you and/or what did you find out about their lives during that period?

My grandpa was about 8-10 when this happened. My grandpa was a student on the french school in Denmark under the war. My grandpa told me that if he hadn't eaten his lunch as slow as he did that day, many of his classmates would've been outside on the playground and probably would've killed them all. So I'm kind of happy that he ate slowly that day, I would probably not be here today if he wasn't as hungry as he was.

In Denmark there is a documentary almost played yearly on Denmarks biggest TV station, where my grandpa's mom can be seen crying outside the bombed school, and my grandpa always calls everyone in the family when it's on TV.

I love my grandpa
