[serious] What sudden realization made you really sad?

exactly. people exist just to spread their genes. your family will be sad for you for 5 mins because you wont spread the family genes and wont be able to help thme with raising their offsprings. your friends will be sad for 1 min because you wont be able to synergize resources for your benefit, they will jsut move on, find new friends and maybe remember you once in a few years for 5 seconds. basically, when you die, noone cares. they might cry and all that, but noone truly cares. everyone is, evolutionary, by definition, self oriented and selfish, even when doing seemingly altruistic things, its still for the benefit of genes. even if you write a book or make a comic or cure aids, people will talk about you and admire oyu for a few years until the fad dies, or even a 100 years, until someoen has cured super aids. Ultimatively, your existence, though one could cope with it beaing meaningless, was also, ultimatively, totally irrelevant. the world would be the same without you. nothing would change. all the people who youve helped, they died, and their offsprings died, and humanity died, and nothing matters. if oyu just shift the scope out from this anthropocentric view, you see that noone matters. peopel are just big ants, doing what they are supposed to, and that is breed and further the survival of their genes. even if a few dont, and we can claim free will and stuff, everyone is still absolutely predictable and will do exactly what everyone else. little machines trying to find a partner and breed, and make little governments and wars. like any of it matters in the big picture. you wouldnt ask yourself what does an ant think, what are his goals and dreams, can he pass a big leaf from the left or right side, you know that he will supply his mound with sugar, and then die, and some lucky ones will fuck the queen. thats it, noone wins, things just are, and they would be even without you. ..and that is pretty disturbing... tried to ask the philosophers for an answer, but they told me to fuck off...
