I had heard some odd noises in our pipes a few days earlier, but then one day shit really hit the fan; literally. I was first in our family to come home this particular day, and what was waiting for me was truly a gut-wrenching sight.

There had been a blockage of waste and excrement piling up in the pipes until one day all that old and molded stuff literally came up from all of our drains on our house. We have 3 separate drains, and around them there was shit on the walls, shit on the floor and shit on the ceiling. Also a lot of water had leaked and there was this 5-10cm layer of diharrea looking stuff. It was so bad that we physically couldn't enter the house because of violent dry-heaving and vomit attacks.

And then my mother came home, crying, while I was waiting outside sobbing. She told me that my granddad had been diagnosed with a type of lung cancer and there was nothing that could be done. We moved away for a week, the smell went away after a month, and my granddad passed away five months later. And oh btw. It was friday the 13th.
