[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt?

I was still in highschool when this happened. I had plans to go hang out with a friend. They lived on the opposite end of the neighborhood that I lived in. It was fairly late at night as I pulled out of the driveway to make my way there. As I drove down my street, a car was headed towards me from a side street. I happened to look over at the car. Their headlights shined my face as I had the window down. As I passed them, they turned left and got behind me. I got to the end of my street and made a left turn to go further into the neighborhood. They did the same. I didn't think anything of it and kept driving. I drove straight for quite awhile, the other car following behind, but they were hanging back. I made a right turn and as I did I checked my rearview mirror. The car was hanging back even further this time. I assumed they were lost and keep driving. As I get a bit further down the street, I could no longer see the car. Then, I saw a light appear in my mirrors. I looked back to see the same car that had just been behind me, only this time it was closer. They had turned their lights off then made the turn onto the street I was on before turning their lights back on. My stomach sank and I made a left turn onto the next street I came to, which lead out to a main street. As I did, the car behind me sped up. Right before I could turn onto the main street I saw the car turn onto the street behind me. I turned right onto the main street before making another right back into the neighborhood. I thought maybe I could lose them and make it to my friend's place. I didn't have a cellphone and I didn't know what else to do at the time, as they could easily follow me on the main street, which was dead at night. After making a few detours to try and assure I was no longer being followed, I had made it to my friend's house. Their house was right on the edge of the main street I had briefly turned onto before going back into the neighborhood. My friend was sitting on their porch, and as soon as I get out of the car, I started explaining the situation to them. Then I began to describe how the car looked before my friend pointed towards the main street and asked "Is it them?" I turned and saw the car creeping down the main street at a very slow pace before speeding off. Somehow they had managed to find me again. We went inside and talked to his parents about it. I stayed the night. The next day, we saw the same car parked across the main street from my friend's house in a parking lot, but no one was in it. The car sat there for weeks until it either was towed or the driver finally came back for it. We never saw it again after that.
