[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt?

I was in a metro station in another country with my family. For some reason none of us (except my mother) were concerned that there were hardly any people at the station in the middle of the day. We go inside through some long halls and find an elevator. We go down a few floors hoping to get to the right floor where we can take a train where we need to go. The elevator doors open and we are presented with a pitch black room and my mother was freaking out telling us to go back up and get out of there while my dad was completely calm for some reason.

I Don’t know why this station was open and why we even went that far but I have chills right now thinking about what could’ve happened. And why my mom was the only one that was actually spooked.
