[Serious]What's the creepiest, most unexplained thing that you've ever witnessed?

I was up pretty late 8 years ago, dicking around on my computer in my bedroom, being pretty quiet. It was the summer, my windows were open, the door closed, and the only light in my room was from the monitor.

I was tired and got up to go bed. I turned the screen off. Just before I got in to bed I noticed I kind of had to pee and didn't want to wait, sleep through it, and wake up with my bladder screaming at me in the mornign.

I went to my door and pulled it open, it was pretty much closed but wasn't latched, so it slid open pretty quietly. As soon as I opened it, I heard a really strange noise outside the door down the hall. The noise was like something really heavy was pacing the hallway. It sounded like a... THUMP, CREEAAK, THUMP, CREEAAK. Like someone heavy was walking back and forth. I froze and kept listening, I heard faint breathing too.

I was really terrified, a couple of imaginary horrors jumped up in my mind but I tried to rationalize something like, 'maybe mom or dad is just sleep walking... if there's someone there you'll deal with it, so quite being a pussy and just turn the fucking corner.' So I went.

I turned the corner towards the bathroom, which was the way the sound was coming from and that's when my vision went from the ordinary night darkness to pure bright white and everything went completely silent. I stood there stunned. It wasn't like looking into normal light, my eyes did not react, there was no pain or sensation from that transition, there were no surroundings, just pure white light.

I think I stood there only a few seconds, I really don't really know, I can't remember thinking anything except the urge to get my self back in my room, I forced my towards my door and everything flooded back and in another instant I was back in the darkness. I could hear the breeze from outside the window again and the noise outside my door was gone. I ran and turned my lights on and was terrified to leave my room. I never peed that night.

I don't know what happened but I had anxiety of the dark for a few years after that, which I recently got over and every time I've tried to visualize what I saw during the white out period I've experience intense fear, which I just don't try to do anymore.
