My mother in law attempted to kill herself by swallowing a bunch of pills. Her shitfuck husband (not first husband, wife refuses to call him family) called my wife late at night and said "your mom is drunk and taking pills, she wants to kill herself, someone needs to get over here, I've got somewhere to be I gotta go" - my wife was 8.5 months pregnant at the time. They had already called the cops on each other so much that another would have instantly put him in jail so he left.

I called 911 on her behalf and told them the situation, ambulance got there and they checked her over, she threw up before they got there and refused treatment so they left. We were hours away so we couldn't do anything. Wife's brothers have disowned her so they didn't go out and check up so we had wife's aunt go out there.

This all happened because it was mother's day and we had a dinner planned that night that we tried to reschedule, which meant to her that she was disposable and we were just penciling her in and we didn't care about her. She's got tons of issues and has never said sorry once in her life. She picks the shittiest men on the planet to be with and is constantly getting beaten or left or cheated on or whatever else you can think of but at the end of the day her family is apparently unsupportive and wrong and she thinks they are the reason no one talks to her anymore. She is delusional but won't see anyone and gets angry if you try to talk her out of this hellish life she's leading, she is hopeless. I feel bad for my wife as she still talks to her every day and wants to have a mom and a grandmother to our children but always tells me the only thing she's good for is to show her what not to do as a mom. It's heartbreaking.
