Seriously though... Fuck D&D and Fuck Season 8.

I don't see it so much as being power hungry, but rather that she feels destined to do it because of her bloodline, and the way she brought dragons back into the world with what seemed like a miracle. And many people around her, even those who meant good, fed into that messianic mindset.

I think her desire to do good is genuine, but it all hinges on her personal perception of good and evil.

In S7, she literally refused to save the world unless Jon gave her the north.

Umm, no. She didn't want to risk her armies on the word of a man she had just met. You're reading into things as if she knew for sure that the army of the dead was real, and an immediate threat to boot.

She wanted power, true, but she wanted it so she could reclaim her birthright in Westeros. And she refused some easier ways to gain power, because she didn't want to just conquer. She genuinely wanted to help the slaves in Essos, to free them and make sure the Masters couldn't regain their position the moment she left.
