I set up my Raspberry Pi to automatically tweet at Comcast Xfinity whenever my internet speeds drop significantly below what I pay for (From front page)

I'm not sure if you don't actually understand how this works, or if you just have a vendetta against Comcast. Either way, it's too early, I haven't had enough coffee yet, and frankly you not understanding doesn't negatively impact me. I just wanted to share some facts that might help improve the discussion.

Suffice to say that while it's entirely possible that Comcast is doing a shitty job, you're not able to accurately quantify that with your incorrect (yet widely held) assumptions and inaccurate methods. The internet is a complex beast, speeds are a complex topic.

PS - Your summary of my point 3 is a gross misrepresentation of what I wrote and does not correlate to reality. Comcast's part of this is actually quite limited.

I hope you don't mind if I grossly misrepresent some more of what you wrote, but is your reply to me basically just

"You don't understand, but I don't feel the need to explain why I'm saying that, because you're wrong, and I got up over 2 hours ago and haven't made my coffee yet. But that's okay, I just wanted share some facts to point out that /r/iamverysmart."

"PS - What you said is wrong, because reasons."

Does that about sum it up? Do you know what I think might help improve the discussion? Some discussion. As best I can tell, testing against multiple sources will eliminate any single test server as the source of the bad connection, taking bandwidth used into account would solve the issue of not taking bandwidth used into account, and if they oversell the network to the point of rarely being able to use those advertised speeds, you're getting shitty service and should complain. What's incorrect about that?
