Everything you say here is wrong. First off, this isn't an unpopular opinion; saying that the thing that's illegal almost everywhere should be illegal is inherently popular and supports the status quo.
A) It's unsafe. Sure, there may be some clean sex workers (they'd be the most clean, because they'd consider it a job, like pornstars), but the risks of diseases spreading is too high. I have had enough trouble in the past knowing whether or not my (cheating) partner was clean. Even if you have a mutual understanding of 'get tested every so and so weeks' any party can catch something elsewhere between that time.
Nope, actually quite safe with condoms. But even if it wasn't, giving a hand job while wearing latex gloves and goggles is far safer than nearly any medical procedure yet is still completely illegal almost everywhere. There are many places in the world where sex work is legal and highly regulated and disease has only been a problem when safety regulations are ignored... which is more than you can say about the medical industry.
B) It might have something to do with my past abuse and I know that people will say 'well your experience shouldn't determine a whole decision that impacts the masses', but that's why its called an opinion: sex work, paying for sex and flinging yourself around is demoralising [sic] and not personal. I'm under the impression that sex should have meaning, con ection [sic] and sentimeny [sic] behind it and be safe: sex work doesn't include meaning (deep emotional meaning) and the gaurantee [sic] of safety (see point a).
It's only unsafe emotionally and physically because it's illegal so you can't call the police or hire protection. Also, a lot of jobs don't include deep emotional meaning. Being a carnival worker running one of those scam games probably isn't anyone's dream job that provides profound emotional satisfaction and meaning but it's not illegal.
C) this will be equally as triggering; but find a more useful and productive way of making money for a life of comfort and stability that doesn't risk safety, that (in some cases) drains other people's money (yes I understand that people can spend their money on what they want) who should be having sex with people they love. Yes you can tell that I'm not a one night stand/casual-sex-haver.
I think alcohol is a dumb and when it was illegal and there were no safety regulations around it wasn't very safe, therefore alcohol should be illegal!

Now here's some stats to support my position on alcohol being made illegal:
when prohibition wan't enforced but alcohol wasn't fully legal there was a lot of crime and bad things happened, therefore full legalization won't help
one study showed there was a lot of violence in an illegal speakeasy
violent criminals associated at illegal speakeasies
illegal speakeasy workers experience similar levels of danger to workers in legal professions, despite the significant safety problems related to being in an illegal profession
