the sexualization of leggings

I'm personally only comfortable wearing them in certain contexts. But that's my choice. I don't think its professional enough in business casual, unless its under a dress/tunic/skirt. But that's just my opinion, and I don't care if someone pushes that line in my office. Because if i don't stare, almost like magic.... then its not there (/sarcasm). I mind my own business, and truly this is not worth trying to embarrass a co-worker or judge any person for that matter. They could very well have a medical issue that is made easier by easy clothes.

If you work as a cook/chef or other jobs with limited customer interactions or the work culture is casual, duck off. And if I'm at a grocery store, gym, or walking down the street in leggings DUCK OFF.

I can see if you work with customers a lot, I could see certain contexts where its not allowed at work. However, in my heart I know that doesn't really make a difference. No matter what I'm wearing, there is still somehow that one customer catcalling me in a parking lot. Its never about the clothes. One specific moment comes to mind, funny enough I was wearing leggings that day... under a dress... under a lab coat and wearing other layers of PPE taking out some of our hazard trash. So to me it seems beyond the leggings and whatever clothes are considered "explicit". Its about respect, and women just don't have it from many men. Of course I think that's changing overtime, I see many men out there choosing to call out this behavior. To finish that story....somehow, after that interaction, after I made a complaint about that customer to his employer (who I knew wasn't supposed be there because he was banned from delivering samples after several incidents with other female employees) all the ladies at work were lectured by our female manager how dressing appropriately is how we protect ourselves. I was livid. Really?
