Shadow of War might have the worst movement i've ever played

The movement has that "point in the direction you're trying to go and let Talion take the wheel" thing going on

which is annoying on so many levels. those movement systems are usually reserved for characters you control that are meant to control realistically, presumably to keep them animated in a way that doesn't look like dogshit. Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, whatever, those characters are meant to be climbing things realistically, so they just resort to having you hold a button and the animators do the work for you. but in Shadow Of War you're playing as a literal superhero (presumably, i haven't taken in a single thing from the story), so if something goes wrong, it goes wrong in the sense that Talion has Matrix-jumped 100 yards in the wrong direction, or scaled an entire wall in one move when you were only trying to vault over the fence right next to it. if this game controlled more like Dishonored or Crackdown or something where they give you fewer moves but full control, it might be the perfect open world game for me.
