Shame on you, Virgin Australia (full story in comments)

My uncle was murdered, and the Supreme Court trial is finally about to begin. The last few years have rattled us to our core, the kind of grief I wouldn't wish on anyone. Our whole family is flying interstate for the trial, a mix of tickets were purchased (Jetstar and Virgin Australia).

Due to the accused claiming a form of insanity in the weeks leading up to it, two weeks before the trial was supposed to begin, it has been delayed for three weeks. Jetstar waived the change fees after requesting a letter from Major Crimes. Virgin Australia has refused the claim, citing a $90 change fee per person that is immovable.

I understand fee structures. I understand cancellation policies. But of all instances where compassion could be applied and fees waived, this is obvious. I'm shocked and disappointed that after HOURS on the phone, nothing has changed. Nothing has been offered. These costs add up for my family in an extremely difficult time.

Shame on you, Virgin Australia.
