I know there a lot of people here condemning announcing yourself paying respects and in most cases I agree. In most cases I would be prone to joining in on rolling my eyes.

However

Let us not forget the incomprehensible loss of life and families ruined forever in the wake of 9/11. It doesn’t matter if you believe in conspiracy theories or if you believe in it as it told - 9/11 was a tragedy on a grand scale and all of those people are never coming back so yeah, in this case - Its fucking okay to announce paying your respects when the whole fucking country is joining in with you. I’ll probably get downvoted to hell for this but I don’t care. I’m joining in with OP in announcing that today I paid my respects and there’s nothing wrong with that in a case this tragic and unique. Get off your high horse on this one, Reddit.
