Shannon Sharpe: Mac Jones, not Justin Fields, is the second best QB in the NFL draft

Full transcript: "4.4 doesn’t tell me anything about a QB. I wanna know how fast can he process information and how accurately can he get the ball there… Does he know where he needs to go with the football and how accurately can he get it there.. That’s what I need from a QB. I don’t care if runs 6 flat… “Man that ball got out quick, he knew exactly where to go with the football, he knew what the defense was, 1 wasn’t there he went to 2, 2 wasn’t there, he went to his check down.” The guy that did that best was Mac Jones. If you look at his tape, he has no bad tape. If you think about it, he might have played 1 bad game in his 13, 14 starts. Other than that they’re perfect… There is no bad tape. Now you gotta go all the way back to last year when he filled in for Tua at Auburn. He did throw 2 pick-6s but he did show you he kept fighting back… For me, he has the best tape. Is he the best athlete, maybe not… You need a QB that can get away sometimes, I believe Mac Jones is plenty good enough. I believe Kyle Shanahan moved up, I believe he loves Mac Jones because he reminds him of a more athletic Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins… For me, Mac Jones is the 2nd best quarterback in this field based on what I’ve seen by their work. He has the least amount of questions… We don’t really have questions about Mac Jones… We might say “Well that’s only 13-14 starts”, but those 13-14 starts, other than Trevor Lawrence, who had a better 13-14 starts than Mac Jones”
