I find it strange that almost no one here seems to recognize or agree that Death Grips, at least Ride, is into the occult and Satanism. I mean the guy is literally covered head to toe with tattoos of sigils, several symbols which specifically represent Satan, etc. Is the consensus that Ride has defiled his body with images of the devil as some kind of joke before Death Grips was even a band? How is he not obviously serious about his beliefs? And that's without diving into the dozens of references to magic, occultism, Satanism, etc. Most of their songs have these references. Here's a few just off the top of my head.

• eyes above which horns curve / basically this whole track
• upside down cross on the jumbotron"
• perfect reminder occult i'm made of"
• i fuck the music with my serpent tongue"
• my forefinger flippin' pentagrams"
• i'm Ride, sign of sulfur"
• "666 i'm at the gates / 13 swallow my tail"
• "fuck me, deceiver"
• black goat anus, Christo anti-clan of shameless"
• my oxidized gold shaft floods your jugular with lucifer"
• slash on satan's fender"
• pigeon hole me, get crucified"

There's dozens more examples thought, that's the tip of the iceberg. They allude to it in interviews. Videos like On GP are a caricature of what magic is interpreted to be in modern Western culture, the modern Disney interpretation of "smoke coming out my fingers", while the title track of the album is about being driven by these kind of forces in the traditional, esoteric sense.

I'm not saying I buy into this school of thought, but it seems very overt in their music, so for all of the schizophrenic theories DG fans have it seems weird that no one really talks about this.
