The famous TIFU from another perspective.

That's my friend who posted that. I was there. Proof.

Yeah he exaggerated a bit but it really happened. It was Biden and some other important people, my brother's girlfriend's father was on the post security detail. I was the 18 year-old in the story. I did all of the talking.

It went like this:

5 vs 4. The team of 5 head out into the woods and we give them 5 minutes. My team heads out and I order 2 guys to follow along the creek and my buddy and I take the high ground. As were are walking up, we move around a large brush pile. We hear branches crack and my buddy turns around and unloads his Thompson on a poor deer. So now our position was given away, but not to the other team. I move up the hill a bit more and I see the golf course. Too close. I tell my buddy we need to move back down the hill.

I turn to look again and I see a golf cart with a dude in it. Fuck. I tell my bud, he freaks out and hides behind a tree. I look again and lo and behold, and man in all black gear just standing there. I knew he was police or something, so I put my gun on the ground and put my hands up to show I'm unarmed. He approaches and starts asking questions. He asks what we are doing, I say airsoft. He asks me to unload the weapon and I do, he sees it's airsoft and was a bit relieved in his expression. He asked if we were doing ops, and I said yes, 5 vs 4 team games. I ask if we should move down the hill and he tells me yes. The whole time he was looking around all worried like, which I now understand why. We shake hands and I do a quick check of his gear. All black, but the only thing that really stuck out was a patch that said "US Secret Service." I shit myself.

I go up to my friends and say, "Well someone important is here, and we should leave." My brother lost his pistol so we looked for that, then heading back to our gear spot. I stay hate myself for this, but instead of leaving, we just hang out in the woods. Start shooting each others guns and stuff. I look to my buddy and say, "Let's put our shit on, run and hide and shoot them when they try to find us." We get halfway into dressing up and we hear muffled yelling. Then it turned into "FORT BELVOIR MILITARY POLICE PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM!" Terrifying. We comply. Three of them, the younger one starts asking who spoke with the Secret Service agent. I raise my hand and he starts berating me with questions, it was scary man. Then they make us get all of our gear and lay it out.

They just talk to us, it was pretty chill. Then the tell us how much trouble we could get in, like trespassing and stuff. They then search my car, as I drove everyone there. They have us sit down and call our parents because the Secret Service needed to question us and they needed a parent present. I called my dad and he was angry but now laughs at it He's still in the Army in D.C. He shows up and they get to questioning. Nothing extreme. They let us go, no charges, just verbal warnings. My dad continued to talk to the agents. The male agent explained how he loves airsoft and his fellow agents love to play. He points to my SCAR and said he liked it, and my dad jokes about how he pays for it all. Which he did, but now I have my own money. There was never a sign that said no trespassing or anything like that, but now they're all over that area.

My family still see's those MPs on post and they always joke about that day. I'm still amazed how that day went, and I'm really glad we had orange tips. Any questions about that day, just ask!
