(Also, first one's a big yep. Yellowstone fan here and from what I can tell, the actor, Gil Birmingham, might've taken a break from Siren for a while to focus on his role of Thomas Rainwater on Yellowstone since the big problem there was, Thomas is a recurring character on that show, due to the fact he plays a really important adversary there. So there wasn't the option of, opting out for an episode or two to play Dale, then opt out of a episode or two here to play Thomas,etc. Because Thomas appears in practically almost every episode.

Not to mention,even if there was that option,both shows are filmed in drastically different locations, Yellowstone is filmed in Montanna and Utah and Siren is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. Doesn't help both shows started about the same time either. So it was a big case of one or the other and since Thomas in retrospect was a more important role, he went with the other instead. It's why he was absent for a very large chunk of the season when previously he used to be quite a bit of a recurring character in Season 1 because they either hadn't started filming Yellowstone Season 1 yet or they already finished wrapping up on filming there.)
