Shield console and Nvidia grid

Oh hey, I've met a celebrity! You've brought up some interesting points and given me a few questions.

Note: Most of my information here is coming from the livestream event a couple of days ago when GRID was announced.

Could you expand some more on the latency issue? Roughly what sort of end-to-end ping can we expect from GRID? From the live stream I heard 150ms for a complete frame to be delivered. I drew my "150-300ms" latency from that by assuming that 150ms is a best-case scenario.

It's just a PC on the back end, so there's essentially no port-to-GRID cost if they already have a PC version of the game.

That's amazing! It must have been incredibly difficult to natively support games in a supercomputing environment like GRID.

4k, surround, 3D, mods, etc.: You're in the 1% at that point.

I looked this up and was kind of surprised to see that you're correct. Of course I didn't think many people were using 4k, but I did think that 1440p was becoming more common. In fact, I understood that the only way to really get your money's worth out of a GTX 980 was by running games at 1440p.

Steam's hardware survey indicates differently, with more than 60% of gamers still at below 1080p, some 34% at 1080p, and less than 4% at anything above 1080p.

Anyways, I guess my point is... huh. I guess most PC gamers really are OK with lower-rez gaming. However, you'll also note that fewer than 3% of PC gamers who participated in the survey were at 720p or lower.

our games will look better since devs can turn all the dials up to 11.

Will GRID be running these games at ultra graphical settings?

Also, (just curious), how will GRID be able to deal with skyrocketing computing requirements for games? It seems like they'd have to swap out all the hardware in their supercomputer every few years.

at say $10/month.

Is this a reasonable approximation of the cost of a subscription to GRID? I assumed that it would be higher (perhaps $20-$30) because of the hardware costs involved.

Final point:

Is that unavailable to most people?
