Shin after this Arc!

Well in a way you might be right, but I think Ousen was just simply want to think again to make sure his decision won't cause any trouble later on. It's clear there's only 2 option, the Left wing or Right wing.

In the Left Qin is having the upper hand, Mouten is rocking the scene while Makou is causing some tremendous damage to Kisui's troop, with Shin on the scene it might guarantee a win for Qin there. Although we all know Riboku is coming up with something to counter Ousen, sending Shin would still be necessary to minimize the loss.

The Right wing, on the other hand, is having some trouble, I believe Ousen has already noticed this: * Ouhon is strong, even stronger than he was in the previous Wei campaign, but that was still not quite enough to take down Banaji, who is very experienced.

  • Akou, despite having been hyped by the author, quite disappointed me with his strike against Banaji. I can come up with his excuse like he was only able to use one hand to swing his glaive while Banaji could utilize his 2 hands, combined with his bulky body, you can clearly imagine how strong his swing was. However, being mounted means that you're having quite an advantage there, yet not only could he not inflict any wound (even minor) to Banaji, but he almost fell off the horse, which is really ridiculous as the right-hand man of Ousen, even Makou was able to pull out some trick. Anyway, it's just a pointless rant, it could also be the case that Hara just wanna give Banaji some hype before being "nerfed", I expect more from Akou.

  • Back to the point, right now Qin's right wing commanders are all out to engage the enemy, while Zhao on the other hand still has ChouGaryuu waiting to deliver the finishing blow.

So Ousen needs to make a quick decision, to end the Left wing battle as soon as possible to gain the upper hand, which might result in the demise of the Right wing, OR, he can send Shin to the right wing's aid in order to regain the balance of the match. And the result was clear, he put his trust in his son and his right-hand man, and send Shin to the left instead.

There're many things to take into account before making a decision, that's how Ousen is, remember in the recon chapter at Gyou (512), he could have gone back to Retsubi immediately to plan the next move instead of staying there risking his life. He need a clear vision of what affect his plan the most in order to come up with the most effective scheme. This time at the current battle is no exception, he doesn't want to waste any second and constantly thinking/recycling his plan before making the final decision.
