Shipping Megathread [USA/CAN]

Well, being an April 8th order I'm reaching a breaking point. I'm debating it but reasonably decided that if HTC can't get my Vive to me before the end of this week then that's it, I'm done. I'm cancelling my order and vowing to never support HTC in any way possible. This may seem irrational but hear me out. If I can't trust a company to follow a fundamental FIFO concept can I trust them not to take shortcuts with their hardware? Likely not. It's becoming more and more insulting to be seeing May orders shipped out left, right, and center. It's beyond insulting. It's HTC sitting on all of their consumers hard earned money and still choosing favorites. I can't for the life of me fathom why a company would choose to do business this way but I'm telling you it is not in any way right or just. There are far too many deserving people who reserved a slot far ahead of more recent orders who are still waiting patiently(Far more patiently than they should be, IMO) for their orders. HTC if you happen to be reading this: I'm upset. I have every right to be. You've created a magnificent piece of technology at this time. I do stress the words "at this time". You will inevitably be passed in the tech world. A year ago your company was barely holding on to life. The Vive has changed this for now. It changed your path and you shit all over this path as you walked it. The VR seed has only been planted and yet to grow. You've managed to absorb the first rays of sunshine at this time but will inevitably be overcome by greater minds. You've damaged your relationship with a large part of your customer base because of your choices in regards to how to ship your product. It is for this reason that I regrettably say that my wallet no longer rests with HTC. My trust has been damaged and my opinion tainted. As previously said if HTC can't mange to get me my Vive by the end of this week it is likely I will cancel and hold on to my money. Hold on for a better product. I have no doubts that the Vive is impressive, but we've only just scratched the surface of this VR world. A year from now imagine where VR will be. Perhaps VR is an investment I should wait for. Perhaps the Vive is not the answer at this time. I hold my goodbye for now but fear it must be said soon. HTC you have forsaken us. Your customers, your fan base, your livelihood. You've been shitting on the very people who brought your company back to life. I am sorry that it had to be me to say this but it needed to be said. You've upset a lot of people with your choices and those choices will have long term consequences on your companies well being. Sort your priorities out and listen to customers concerns, that's what's tainted your reputation. Open your ears HTC! Your customers are your success! Best of luck, I hope you sort things out before I abandon your ship.
