Shocker

I'm saying it precisely isn't realistic. If they're due to start something in September they're not gonna have had a chance to do the exam. If they're one exam grade between enough points for their first choice then what bullshit it would be to delay going to uni to sit one exam.

It is not at all the only realistic way of giving people what they want.

If they're for some reason happy and sure they can wait another year and do well enough on said exam then sure but that isn't an option for everyone especially where money is concerned.

If the results are inflated so what? It's only A levels. You have a degree, cemap, whatever qualification after those exams. Most jobs aren't going to give a shit. I have had to recall mine exactly once the last 6 years.

The practical difference of swathes of people sitting their exam between now and September if uni is their goal is huge. And if uni isn't their goal and they're missing out on a job now, what are they meant to do while they wait for it all to be arranged? Magic up another job?

Folks getting their predicted and still being unhappy are in a hard situation happiness wise but offers for uni or other qualifications are given based on predicted results so the practical difference is negligible, though I would say giving those who really really wanted the option to do the exam would be fine.

My main point of contention is people complaining who are getting under their predicted grade.
