Shooting at a Church in Pelham

I'm not trying to get into a political argument, and I hope what I say here we can both agree on, but:

There's a very big difference between guns and stabbings vs acid attacks and bombings. And the middle east is also a completely different ball game between USA or the UK/France for that matter. I'm in favor of more restrictive laws that make it easy for someone who passes background checks and is mentally sound to legally own weapons that can be used for protection, not for trying to form a militia. If you're armed and you're a responsible adult, then I'm happy to have you next to me in a bad situation. But there are far too many guns in this country in the wrong hands, and that's something we need to correct one way or another.

Bombings and acid attacks are never legal, there is never a legal protocol for them. Everyone doing these are committing crimes by just manufacturing them. There has never been an individual who said "Well I use my bombs for protection" or "I throw my acid on bad guys to protect my family".

The world is a fucked up place, we need all the good people to be ready to respond whether that be someone ready to serve and protect, or others like myself who would rather help get others out of harms way than attack. And I acknowledge getting rid of every legal gun would make us less safe, however I also think that if every adult in America had a gun, we'd be dealing with a lot more gun violence. Everyone goes through a period in their life when they're spiraling, and unfortunately some of those people decide to take rash decisions.

There are legal citizens in this country who have been told they're not welcome here based on their race, sexual preference and many other factors. If they're able to own a gun, don't you think they could be radicalized? We should be opening our literal arms to our brothers and sisters in this country and helping everyone we possibly can get the help and support they need rather than arming everyone. Because all it takes is one person to get radicalised or get into a bad situation before they're on the path to destruction.

That's my point I'm trying to make. Mental health goes a long way, but we also need to be aware that there needs to be a better system for obtaining a gun and checkups to ensure they're not going to use it for something nefarious down the line.
