I think people have the wrong approach to this reality. you're thinking in terms of "political motivation" and "planning" and you fail to realize a massive issue is that fundamentalist Muslims are soo brainwashed by islam that they do not see anything beyond islam. Allah and living by the Koran and hailing god is THE ONLY thing. Anything that slightly offends their god deserves murder. It is written in their Koran. These people would kill their own children and wives if they transgressed against Allah in some way (and they do so in many countries where a woman will be stoned for transgressing her husband, or going with a man of a different faith). Look at the cartoon murders! These people have ZERO TOLERANCE for anything that is not muslim. They will MURDER over a cartoon. They have zero respect for life because they truly at their deepest core believe that ISLAM is the only way, and if you are not a muslim you are the devil. They have no political motivation. They are sickened by what they see. THey want Sharia law. They want Paris to look like Baghdad. These people are too stupid to even reason with. Like reasoning with a 3 year old. You can lecture them about the value of life and getting along and living side by side despite differences but they do not see it that way. They are sickened by anything that reminds them of "infidels" and "the west". I think it really is very few muslims who will adapt to western life and actually be ok with living side by side with others. I know many 3rd and 4th generation who get along with people at work etc but in private conversations will stay say things that make me scratch my head - like how they don't think teens should go to co-ed schools or LGBT rights or anything. They don't view things as "equal human rights", they only view it as "Allah says to do this..." and you cannot contradict Allah no matter what. I've met people who will not be able to empathize with anyone else's struggle, they try to explain their way out of everything as "they need Allah in their life". Think 17th century christians suddenly being thrown into 2015. The problem is that they have leaders who promote violence and tell them that Islam will reign. And the sad fact is, all the muslims I have ever met at work or school have 4+ kids; most people from the west who I have grown up with have 0 kids and are on divorce #3. Wheter we believe in free will and autonomy, and I do believe you have the right to do what you want with your life, they really live by the Koran which has 2 important tenants for muslims 1. get married to a muslim 2. have many kids.
