[SHOTS FIRED] Joe Budden Claims Lupe Fiasco is "scared" of rapping with him, lupe fires back

how much, if any of this, is taught in your schools?

It's glossed over. Slavery, Jim Crow and the Reconstruction South are taught in U.S. history courses but it mostly just covers up until the Brown v Board of Education Supreme Court case. The abject horrors of slavery and how bad life was for black people for countless years outside of some lucky outliers isn't discussed much. And the institutional racism perpetuated by redlining and the criminal justice system etc. aren't really covered much if at all.

I'm just an average, overly educated white dude myself. I think the best way to help is to be educated about our history and to be a good human being. Treat other people well, do what you can to help those who need it, and look to build up our communities. All of our communities. Vote for people who will help lead us to a better future in which we are closer to true equality, if such candidates exist. I'm hopeful they do. It's easy for me to be hopeful. But I do believe that change will come. It won't be easy, it won't be quick. But if everyone treated each other well and with respect, regardless of skin color, nationality, religion, etc., and were willing to have honest conversations about our differences as well as our shared human experiences I think we'd be a lot closer to the world we want to see. But changing the government and the institutions that have perpetuated discriminatory policies for decades is going to take a LOT of voting. And time. And a lot of policy changes.

TLDR: Not really. And be a good person.
