Should I (30M) date someone with MS?

You can’t compare dementia to MS.

Why not? Both can be very severely degenerative diseases which can cripple normal bodily and mental functions, and cause a huge amount of strange on functioning in every day life, and also affecting any romantic partnership they're with.

Just as adjustments would have to made for someone with mild to severe dementia (keeping things in the same place, etc.) so too would it be for someone with mild to severe MS (nothing which triggers or exacerbates symptoms, cancelling plans, etc.).

The crucial similarity in both of these diseases in terms of the partners involved, is sacrifice - something which should never be understated.

Considering you’re here, clearly you shouldn’t be dating anyone for that matter. You’re a walking red flag.

Asking for perspective on dating someone with a severe health issue which could potentially get a lot worse and cause an undue amount of strain, means I shouldn't date anyone. Okay, guy.

You realise this is a advice and discussion subreddit, right? Where many people of all different walks of life come together and share their personal thoughts and experiences on the matter?

I'm hoping a partner of someone with MS will come in and post something educational and helpful.

Also, you seem to be taking this all personally. If you have MS or someone you know has MS, I'm not attacking them, so you needn't be triggered. I'm merely trying to ask for perspective so I can make a well informed decision.

Good night. :)
