I have a question, wasnt sure where to ask it, but im gonna ask it here. I read an article where a presumably white person found out their ancestors owned slaves, so they decided they should atone or pay back some to the black community. So heres my two question, if you are black and white decent with slave owner and slave ancestry, are you on even ground now, do you not owe black people something for having slave owner ancestry just because you have slave ancestry? And my next question is, if you are black and your ancestors owned slaves (specifically speaking if they lived in the states were black and owned black slaves) do they owe reprimands to the black community? I hope this doesnt come across as sarcastic i just want to hear others opinions on the matter.
