Should being racist now have an affect on you in 10+ years? /r/insanepeoplefacebook debates.

Why shouldn't a black person be able to escape their past though? That's the thing, everyone should be given the chance to become better people and escape their past.

Difference between not having your death justified because you smoked weed in high school, and being denied job/education opportunities because you want to enslave/kill other people. Your white plight isn't on level with real oppression.

I talked about it in another comment, but I did used to be an anti-sjw, who would make edgy jokes. The place I grew up in (Idaho) is pretty racist and homophobic. To lump people like those I grew up with (and to a certain extent myself) in with someone like Trump who isn't going to listen, seems to be an oversimplification.

And why is that? Idaho voted overwhelmingly for Trump and votes for Republicans overwhelmingly and has done so for decades. You think nectar you "woke up" dry excuses everything you said and did and everyone in your states did and continues to do? That's expected, really; no one wants consequences, especially people who aren't used to them.

But you do deserve them where other people don't deserve much more petty shit used to justify their death.

Like, I'm not going to judge a person who used to get into fights at a bar 10 or even 5 years ago if they advocate against brawling now.

How nice that some white kids are already being forgiven for being racist troglodytes 5/10 years before they even have to make amends. That's privlige for you.
