This should be the biggest argument for Basic Income.

It is a good thing for those that have the real talent that meets a demand, go out and become and entrepreneur but I have seen a LOT of people coming out of schools with ZERO talent and expect more money then the jobs within their capabilities are able "not just willing" to pay. The jobs that demand no further skill then some physical dexterity and tolerance to do a job but is beyond them due to some pay grade! so the companies out source to off shore or automate and the unemployment rate goes up costing all of us. Pay rates always will be a fraction of the consumer cost of the goods being produced, high end or otherwise, that's just common sense and basic economics. Most jobs in my region are seasonal and natural resource based, (so my comments may not be so relevant in other regions where there is considerable skill set competition) so that means harder work, piece work and generally lower wages. The pay or the return on a product is always going to be based on the parties involved! If I can find someone willing and able to work for a X$ amount, then why would I consider paying anyone else more! Take the job or not, always your choice, but the safety net you land on should not be on the backs of society. People have to learn to ask themselves, Can I really afford NOT to work! do I take the job or mooch off of others and their efforts. Even as an engineer I've packed fish to make ends meet, I'd rather be productive working then a nonproductive leach on society.

People are becoming "Entitled", Low paying, temporary, minimum wage jobs should be for those first being introduced into the work force, Look at how the UK handles minimum and living wages. It is expected that these jobs will have high turnovers as people move up the income chain and open jobs for younger startups it would also be an incentive to upgrade and enhance ones skills some imaginary arbitrary living wage offers little incentive to enhanced skill sets.
TLDR: Everything in the universe want to go to some minimum energy state, humans just call it getting lazy....
