Should Boise State become the University of Boise? Am I the only that that thinks the current name is holding the school back in academics and potental acceptance to a top athletic conference.

I did. I disagree. ASU is a great school doing impressive stuff. OSU is a great school with one of the highest enrollments in the country. Idaho State is a much worse school than Boise State and if it was Pocatello State instead and BSU were Idaho State I don’t think anything would change. Likewise OSU is a much better and bigger school than the University of Ohio. UF and FSU are both very good. PSU is a flagship.

Boise State will get better with continued high enrollment and state support and attracting and retaining good faculty. It’s been renamed three times already in its history. The name isn’t holding it back. At all. It was a commuter school with a truck driving program within the last 25 years. It’ll get better. I promise.
