Why should I care about animals lives?

1) Yes, b/c humans are part of my pack

How do you define a 'pack' anyway?

2) No, b/c they are food sources.

They are food sources in practice. However, most cultures have different views on which animals to consume or not consume. The consumption is unnessecary today, and could be supplemented by healthier, more enviromentally friendly, and less cruel food today. Why is this not desirable?

3) B/c humans are humans. I don't see the issue. I think this goes the other way, if you think other humans are not part of my pack you'll have to write why I should think that.

Why do you assume that they are part of the same pack? Humans compete with each other for about everything. Humans often hurt each other to gain something, and most people wouldn't consider hostile humans to be part of their 'pack'.

If you still say claim that all humans are part of the same pack, you've got to explain why.

4) [..] Intelligence could be one if any of them approached true self awareness.

You're claiming that Intelligence is the determining factor to differentiate rights. However, if you use Intelligence as determining factor, do you consider less intelligent Humans less worthy of rights?

5) I'd like to see stats on this but I think most vegans/vegetarians are women.

1m:4f for vegans, 4m:6f for vegetarians.[1]

I think in many cases it's their nurturing instinct extending past our species onto others.

And most people find cruelty towards animals disguisting, so far even, that they're not even willing to acknowledge the terrible conditions animals in the industry suffer.

This means that the only reason more people don't reject animal agriculture is because it is hidden out of view. This is reinforced by many slaughterhouse workers having PTSD from working there.

Judging by that modern animal agriculture goes against the nature of human empathy in general.

But in many cases it's I think it's health issues which they are trying to resolve.

Most vegans also empathize the morality aspect of it.
